Myranda Sandberg was initially drawn to the practice of criminal defense following a college assignment that led her to research wrongful convictions. Learning about injustices faced by so many was an eye-opening experience that sparked her dedication to advocate for those navigating the often complex and flawed judicial system. With an educational background in psychology, Myranda brings a unique perspective to her practice and has become an unyielding advocate for justice.

Prior to law school, Myranda immersed herself in the study of psychology, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and a Master of Science degree in Forensic Psychology from Walden University. Her knowledge and fervor for psychology continue to influence her approach to law, especially as mental health, trauma, biases, and personal circumstances intersect in a multitude of legal situations. She is fiercely committed to ensuring the justice system acknowledges and appropriately addresses each person as a whole person – not just a criminal statute. Her drive to hold the State to the highest constitutional standards ignites her intense zeal as she works tirelessly to protect her clients’ rights and amplify their voices.

Before joining Doar, Drill & Skow in 2025, Myranda worked as a public defender in the First Judicial District in Minnesota, then progressed to litigation experience in Wisconsin with an equal caseload of criminal and family matters. Since joining the firm, her legal devotion and advocacy continue as she narrows her legal practice to criminal defense.

Myranda volunteers as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children in the foster care system, is the Vice President of the St. Croix Valley Bar Association, and participates as a volunteer lawyer for the St. Croix County Free Legal Clinic every month. Outside of her professional life, Myranda enjoys spending time with her husband, Martin, and their two cats, Bonito (a handsome black cat) and Sirius Grey (a mischievous grey cat). If she is not at work, Myranda is likely watching horror films, listening to a true crime podcast, or defeating Martin in Cribbage.
